Uechi-Ryū (上地流, Uechi-Ryū) is a traditional style of Okinawan Karate. Uechi-Ryū means "Style of Uechi" or "School of Uechi".

The style was named Uechi-Ryū after the founder of this style, Kanbun Uechi, who was an Okinawan. He went to Fuzhou in Fujian Province, China to study martial arts and Chinese medicine when he was only 19 years old.

Shōrin-ryū (少林流)  is a major modern Okinawan martial arts and it is one of the oldest styles of karate.

Okinawa Uechiryu Karate Do Kenyukai Grandmaster, Okinawa superman and Supreme instructor Hanshi Kiyohide Shinjo.

"Ken" in Kenyukai represents "strong fist". The "yu" comes from the second character in the name Seiyu Shinjo. "Kai" means association or group. Put together the translation is "Seiyu Shinjo's Strong Fist Group".

In year 2018, as part of its Okinawan Karate Style Research Project, the Okinawan government brought together seniors from some of the main organizations. This included the Okinawan Karate-Dō Association (沖縄手道協会), Kenyukai (拳優会), Konan Ryū Shureikai (硬軟流守礼会), and the Uechi-Ryū Karate-Dō Association (上地流空手道協会).
