Achievements of Odisha Uechi-ryu Karate team - 2023

Odisha state Uechi-ryu Karate team consisting of 11 players from Nabarangpur district and Jagatsinghpur district, participated in the recently held 34th all India invitational Karate do Kobudo championship 2023 – popularly known as Karate Times Cup -- which was held on 20 & 21st May 2023 in the Mundayad indoor stadium in Kannur city, Kerala State.


Odisha team member, International WAKF Karate gold medalist Sandeep Kumar Rout age 12 years participated in the individual weapon event achieved 2 gold medals.

Sangeeta Rout age 15 years participated in Individual Kobudo event & achieved 2 gold medals.

Aadarsh Kumar Behera aged 11 years participated in Individual kata Event achieved 1gold, Kobudo Kata Event 1gold, Team Kata Event 1silver , individual Kumite event 1silver.

P.Sohan Kumar aged13 years participated in Individual Kata Event achieved 1gold and in Individual Kobudo event 1silver .

Aashutosh Kumar Behera 8 years participated in Individual Kata Event achieved 1gold , Team Kata Event 1silver and individual Kobudo Kata event 1Bronze.

Maino Marndi aged 13 years participated in Individual Kata Event achieved 1gold , individual Kobudo Kata Event 1gold and in Team Kumite event 1 gold.

Subhrajeet Jena aged 13 years participated in Individual Kata Event achieved 1 bronze , Team Kata Event 1 gold, individual Kumite event 1 silver.

Aakanshya Priyadarsini aged 16 years participated in Individual Kobudo Kata event achieved 1 gold.

Sayed Rizwan aged 13 years participated in Individual Kata Event achieved 1silver, individual Kumite event 1 gold, Team Kata Event 1 gold, individual Kobudo Kata event 1 gold.

Sai Shraddha aged 12 years participated in Individual Kata Event achieved 1 gold, individual  event 1 silver, team Kumite event 1 gold.

Pratyasha Priyadarshini Jena 8 years participated in Individual Kobudo Kata event achieved 1 bronze medal.

All-together Odisha uechi ryu team achive 18 gold, 7 silver, 3 bronze. Total 28 medals.

Approximately 550 students participated from different states of India and abroad, including karatekas from Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, participated in this competition.

Organiser Kyoshi KV Monoharan & many Karate masters from different Karate styles and officials graced the tournament. The tournament was hugely successful event.
